Legislative Report: Week 3

This week saw a ton of new bills filed. The final day for legislators to introduce an unlimited number of bills was Thursday, January 29th. The deadline for introducing bills is February 4th. Current bill count: 264 House bills and 218 Senate bills. We are one-third of the way through the 2026 Session! The Session meets February 2-6 this week, which is one of two 5-day weeks.

HB 1006An Act to create a task force to study the creation of Indian Medicaid managed care entities in the state.

HB 1023: An Act to establish requirements and liability protection for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses serving on ambulance crews.

HB 1024: An Act to modify requirements for ambulance operators.

HB 1044: An Act to make an appropriation to implement rural health transformation program, and to declare an emergency.

HB 1059: An Act to increase the amounts required in a motor vehicle liability policy.
